Businesses That Violate Health Protocols Will Be Fined Naf.5000.00--- Minister De Weever.

PHILIPSBURG: --- The Council of Ministers have called on all business owners to respect the health protocols in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus or face a fine of NAF5,000.00 the statements came after the head of the Collective Preventive Services (CPS) made their advice known to government regarding the spread of the virus.
Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs announced that CPS has been hinting that there are clusters and a spread of the virus in various sectors and as such stricter measures may have to be implemented.

PHILIPSBURG:---  Sint Maarten was able to secure and finalize the necessary agreements for the third tranche of liquidity support after meeting additional conditions that were set during the Kingdom Council of Ministers (RMR) meeting held on Friday, December 18. On Monday, December 21, the government of Sint Maarten sent a clarification letter to State Secretary Knops responding to the additional requirement, and confirmation was received from BZK to move forward with the agreements which were finalized in a virtual signing on both sides of the Atlantic this morning, Tuesday, December 22, 2020.

Lups Student Government And Griffins Organized A Food & Toy Drive.

CAYHILL, Sint Maarten , — This year, under the leadership of Sahil Khatnani, the 2020-2021 LUPS Student Government President, along with the Griffins, a Food and Toy drive was organized in order to help as many people as they could during these challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many of the LU families made donations and this we greatly appreciate. The food and toys were distributed among three organizations on the island, who expressed their gratitude for what the students were able to contribute.

On behalf of the LUPS Student Government and the Griffins, we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Christmas holiday and a prosperous 2021.

Covid-19 Relief Group Is Still Raising Funds

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The launch was on Sunday but the drive still continues. This is now the slogan of the COVID-19 Relief Group (see attached photo of the organizers)who held its first fundraising radio/telethon last Sunday at the University of St Martin. At the end of the day, 98 persons had donated a total of 4,476 US dollars and 4.359 guilders. The Group had expected to raise more funds so as to be able to assist more people who are in need. Seeing the limited amount of money that was raised, the Group has decided to continue the drive and has begun to knock on the doors of companies and businesses.
