Pfp: Petition Is Poor Start To Decolonization Discussion

PHILIPSBURG PFP Members of Parliament Melissa Gumbs and Raeyhon Peterson once again reiterated their factions distance from the 5 November 2020 motion of Parliament relating to the decolonization process, after Parliament received a copy of a petition submitted by the Choharis Law Group to the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioners Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Racism and the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent.

The petition, totaling 37 pages with appendices, was sent to Parliament thirty minutes before the start of a closed-door meeting of the Committee for Constitutional Affairs & Decolonization, a fact the PFP says gives the impression that the meeting itself was called as a formality to share a document that had already been shared externally Read more

Leaders Should Lead By Example

PHILIPSBURG – Before taking the COVID-19 vaccine at the Belair Community Center on Wednesday morning, faction leader of the National Alliance (NA), Member of Parliament (MP) William Marlin said that our leaders should lead by example.

He wanted the public at large to know, that because he believes the vaccine is safe and necessary, he and his wife Gabrielle have taken the shot in the arm.

After taking the vaccine and waiting to see if there would be any reactions for like 20 minutes, MP Marlin told reporters, that the injection in his right arm was painless, he said.  Taking the vaccine was definitely more comfortable than taking the COVID-19 test twice.

MP Marlin said that many of his contacts has responded to register for the vaccine.  Several of them told him, you go ahead, I wont be taking it, at the least, not now.  For this reason, I want my family and friends to know that we have taken the test and are feeling quite fine Read more
