The Hyacinth Richardson Foundation (Hreaf) Kicks Off Food Assistance Program


St. Peters On Saturday, August 29, 2020, thirty-two families received two bags of groceries, bottled water, face masks and COVID-19 awareness pamphlets compliments of Hyacinth Richardson Educational Awareness Foundation and Secours Populaire Franais.

The two organizations intend to give away 260 food bags during the week to families and senior citizens negatively impacted by COVID-crisis.

The Hyacinth Richardson Educational Awareness Foundation, HREAF, founded by Member of Parliament Hyacinth Richardson, has found an international partner in Secours Populaire Franais (SPF), a French popular Relief organization, which is a non-profit organization founded in 1945, dedicated to fighting poverty in public life in over 80 countries around the world.

Four Employees Test Positive At Postal Services; Operations Scaled Back.

PHILIPSBURG:--- A total of four employees of the Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS) has now been tested positive. Interim Managing Director of PSS N.V., Marinka Gumbs stated that management has taken additional precautionary measures since the closure of the offices on August 24, 2020, when the first case was reported. These measures include partitioning and installation of Plexiglas in the open office spaces as well as thorough sanitizing and fumigation of the all front- and back offices, restrooms, and the customer service areas (including the P.O.Box Room).
