Na Board: More Like Upp Incompetence

The Board of the National Alliance has once again taken notice of the now somewhat childish claim (people know the truth) of several members of the UPP that this coalition is only finalizing projects that were initiated by the UPP-led coalition.

Though we understand the continuity of Government, we do not consider mentioning something on a stage during the 2014 or quietly mentioning it to a friend as initiating a project.

The truth is that when listening to both the leader and deputy leader of the UPP, one would think that the 2014-2015 term was the very first time that both men had been in Government Read more

Minister Lee Reacts On Hospital Article Of Up Party Vice President

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — We are in the election season. That much is obvious. Creating confusion or fear for political mileage now becomes the norm for some political parties.

A prime example of this is the recent opinion piece by the Vice President and political candidate of the UP party Tatiana Arrindell. She wrote a very incompetent and untruthful article, which was published in the Today newspaper about our new General Hospital.

I must say that this type of inappropriate behavior attacks a very large team of dedicated professionals, who have put in extremely long hours in order to make the hospital a project for the people of St Read more

Cdema Boss Warns Residents Not To Let Guard Down

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – As the Caribbean heads into what is traditionally known as the “peak” of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, there’s yet another appeal for Barbados and the rest of the region to remain vigilant.

“We have heard this, [that] God is a Bajan; God is a Trini; God maybe a Jamaican; He maybe an Anguillan; He is all of us but that doesn’t mean that we are not going to be impacted by the vagaries of natural disasters,” warned Ronald Jackson, the head of the Barbados based Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).

Its two and half months into the season which has been somewhat “quiet” but Jackson told Barbados TODAY, that is no reason for the region to become lax.

“The decision as to whether we are caught up in an emergency response or dealing with a disaster is going to be very much built around how much at the household level, at the community level and nationally we are vigilant Read more

As the word state is not applicable to the St. Maarten context permit me to use the word “government” instead.
