PHILIPSBURG:--- Sharine Daniel from St Maarten is the first female to head the Supervisory Board of Directors of the Social Health Insurance USZV as Chairlady.

She joined the board as a member earlier this year and was elected as designated chairperson on August 17, 2016. She replaces Dr. Michel Petit, who served on the board as a member from 2011 and as chairman from December 2014, until his resignation, which became effective as of August 15.

SIMPSON BAY, St. Maarten — The Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) is disheartened to learn of the unfortunate incident that resulted in the death of a child.

Usp Will Use The Legal Recourse To Contest Non-Admission Of Candidate

PHILIPSBURG – Leader of the United St. Maarten (US) party MP Frans Richardson explained on Friday, August 19, that the party will use the legal recourse available to it to contest the non-admission of a candidate on its list by the Main Voting Bureau for the September 26 Parliamentary election.

A petition to the court was submitted since Thursday, August 18, and the petition letter would be sent to the Main Voting Bureau on Friday afternoon.

Richardson explained that due to an administrative oversight and several unforeseen circumstances up to the deadline to submit the list of candidates, one change wasn’t made on one piece of documentation.

PHILIPSBURG: --- The members of the voting bureau, chaired by Attorney at law Jason Rogers announced on Friday that a total of nine political parties will contest the September 26th parliamentary elections. All nine political parties that submitted their lists had to make corrections with the three-day time frame stipulated by law.
Rogers said that all the political parties had errors on their list, and they were given the time to make those corrections.
The nine political parties that will be on the ballots are UPP, HOPE, SMCP, OSPP, PPA, SDM, DP, USP and the NA.
