Sint Maarten Police Is Seeking Information On Scotia Bank Robbery Suspect

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — On Friday, the 5th of February 2016, at approximately 11:20 am, a man walked into The Bank of Nova Scotia located in Philipsburg and handed one of the tellers a threatening note forcing the teller to hand over an undisclosed amount of money.

After receiving the money the suspect left unnoticed. By the time the alarm was raised the suspect had already left the establishment.

The attached photos are snapshots of the suspect. Even though the photos are of very poor quality, the hope is that someone who sees the suspect may still recognize him.

MAHO, Sint Maarten –– El primer ministro William Marlin anunció el viernes que el Consejo de Ministros (COM por sus siglas en inglés), ha emitido una decisión que se suspenden todos los controles multidisciplinarios hasta nuevo aviso.

La decisión fue tomada luego de que los ejecutivos de Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, se quejaran por la forma en que los oficiales ejecutaron el operativo de control llevado a cabo en el referido inmueble.

El primer ministro Marlin dijo el viernes en la tarde que los allanamientos fueron efectuados por el Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Fronteras, así como por efectivos de Asuntos Económicos.

De acuerdo a lo dicho por el primer ministro Marlin, los ejecutivos de Sonesta Maho, afirmaron que la forma  en que las redadas fueron llevadas a cabo, fue ofensiva para los huéspedes del hotel, así como también para los visitantes que se encontraban en las instalaciones, y que las cosas que sucedieron, no debería haber ocurrido.
