PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The Central Voting Bureau met in a public meeting Friday to make their final decision on the validity of the registration of the nine political parties contesting the September parliamentary elections.

The USP party has a problem with the #15 slot on their list as there is a discrepancy with the candidate in that position which led to the Central Voting Bureau taking a decision that the # 15 candidate will be eliminated.

While the USP had their candidate number 15 removed from their list of 23 candidates on Friday by the Central Voting Bureau due to discrepancies, the remainder of their list was validated.

Chairman of the Central Voting Bureau Attorney Jason Rogers gave insight into the process of the research that went into the decision making about the structure of the list after the decision was made to remove the number 15 candidate.

The meeting of the Central Voting Bureau can now be heard via PodCast.
