The Democratic Party has been one of the longest serving parties in the history of St. Maarten.  We have had our ups and downs, but we have been there for the people of St. Maarten, now more than ever before. Our main goal was and continues to be, “how can we make our island a better place for the people of St. Maarten”.

To hear a political party, who welcomed the leader of the Democratic Party as the chairlady in one breathe and denounce her in the next, say some of the most unprofessional things is a shame to say the least.  This berating article from the USP board comes as no surprise, because the same lowdown type of message was previously shared in the NA/USP/DP coalition WhatsApp chat.

COLE BAY:--- The Sint Maarten Nature Foundation, in collaboration with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, assisted in the delivery of Humanitarian Relief Supplies to Hurricane stricken Dominica. Appeals Court Dismissed All Charges Against Former Mp Romaine Laville.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Former Member of Parliment Romaine Laville can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Court of Appeals cleared him of all charges that were brought against him. Laville was charged with gun threats against former MP Jules James and the mighty Dow. He was also charged with the possession of an illegal firearm. In a brief statement to SMN News, Laville said he could go back to living a normal life after 5 years of dealing with these allegations that led to him being prosecuted.

Laville-Appeal Postponed Until June

GREAT BAY – The appeal hearing of former Member of Parliament Romain Laville was postponed until June 8 yesterday. In the meantime, the court wants to hear former Justice Minister Roland Duncan at the Judge of Instruction as a witness in this case.

On august 24 of last year, the court in first Instance sentenced Laville to a 1-month suspended jail sentence for firearm possession, but it acquitted him of making threats against former MP Jules James and against steel pan icon Isidore York.

Former Justice Minister Duncan Witness In Laville’S Appeal Case

PHILIPSBURG--The hearing in the appeal against former Member of Parliament (MP) Romain Laville has been postponed until June 8. The investigation has been referred back to the Investigative Judge to hear former Minister of Justice Roland Duncan as a witness.

Laville was convicted by the Court of First Instance on August 24, 2016, to a suspended prison sentence of one month, on two years’ probation.
