Mp Grisha: CadasterS Funds Being Depleted By Creating Top-Heavy Management Board

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — While waiting for the Managing Director of the Foundation Cadastre & Land Registry to be invited to Parliament to elucidate on the foundations financial situation, MP. Grisha Heyliger-Marten will send a letter to the Minister of Finance, Hon. Ardwell Irion urgently requesting him to asks the Supervisory Board of the foundation to put the recruitment of a full-time CFO and COO on hold.

During a question hour regarding developments at the Foundation Cadastre & Land Registry held earlier this year, the Minister informed Parliament that it could make use of article 14, sub 2 of the Articles of Incorporation of the Foundation to get access to the Foundations administration and receive all requested information regarding its financial policies/management, according to Heyliger-Marten in a press statement released on Thursday afternoon.

Jacobs said that she took note of the Kings apology but she did not hear anything about reparations. She said it was interesting to hear that many Dutch people were not aware of how they received the golden era that was taught in schools.

PHILIPSBURG--Born Free was the theme of this years Emancipation Day event, the 160th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Abolishment of Slavery in 1863, across the Dutch Caribbean islands on Saturday, July 1.

The event commenced with an ecumenical service at Saints Simon and Jude Anglican Church, Back Street, in the morning, followed by a Freedom March on Boardwalk Boulevard to the Sports Park.

The beautiful ceremony was filled with performances and renditions of song, poetry and dance by local musicians, poets, dancers, singers and storytellers.

Drinking Water Treatment Unit Inaugurated By Eeasm

MARIGOT--The water authority tablissement des Eaux et de lAssainissement EEASM and its President Raphal Sanchez inaugurated a new temporary mobile drinking water unit at the Galisbay water production plant on Friday.

This is the first step in the rehabilitation of the plant undertaken by EEASM and the Collectivit, which should enable production to be increased to meet the territory's needs while enabling safety work to be carried out at the plant.
