Asha Stevens Hillside Christian School Leads The Way With Soualichi Stories

Philipsburg, St. Maarten Imagine a classroom where history comes to life, where lessons are woven into captivating tales, and where students eagerly embrace the art of storytelling. Asha Stevens Hillside Christian School has embarked on a journey that promises just thata journey powered by Soualichi Stories, where the age-old magic of storytelling meets modern education techniques.

Over 30 members of the school’s staff participated in a training workshop aimed at utilizing Soualichi Stories within their curriculum, thus starting an interesting chapter in enhancing education techniques using old-time storytelling.

Charlotte Brookson Academy Of The Performance Arts Students To Compete In France  

Philipsburg, Sint Maarten — The Charlotte Brookson Academy of the Performance Arts (CBA) proudly announces its students Faith Peterson, Kiara Vanterpool, Lian Borsje, Ray Angel Boasman and Jeremiah David, who will be forming part of the National Institute of Arts (NIA) delegation to compete in Champagne, France, from May 25-28, 2017.  The total delegation of students traveling to France is eight of which five are the CBA students.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — Charlotte Brookson Academy of the Performance Arts has been busy preparing the first set of students to write the examinations offered by the Caribbean Examinations Council as part of their high school graduation requirements. These first set of CBA students writing the examinations will upon their graduation have opportunities to further their studies abroad.

Charlotte Brookson Academy Hosts Staff Retreat 

 

PHILIPSBURG – The Charlotte Brookson Academy of the Performance Arts recently concluded its retreat on April 18.

The 14 members of the board, management and staff gathered at the conference room of the Simpson Bay Resort. The purpose of the retreat was to re-establish a common understanding of the CBA vision and the school development plan, strengthen a collective understanding of how the vision will be implemented, monitored and evaluated and to identify strategic personal and professional development plans for the staff.

The turbulent process of moving to the new location, and in preparation for the upcoming school year and getting approval for the future focus of the school, management and staff felt it opportune to get together in a conducive environment to reflect on the immediate past, the successes, challenges and opportunities for the future of CBA.
