PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – El Community Outreach Mentorship and Empowerment Center, mejor conocido como C.O.M.E Center, organiz su primer concurso anual de talentos para personas de la tercera edad en el Cultural Center el viernes 22 de abril de 2022. El animado evento fue parte de las celebraciones del dcimo aniversario del centro comunitario ubicado en Long Wall Road. El enfrentamiento de talentos atrajo a una audiencia que iba desde adultos mayores, adultos jvenes y nios. PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – Elderly clients of the Home Away from Home Foundation are now receiving their lunches in their own individually marked reusable containers thanks to the donation of 175 food containers to the seniors group by the St. Maarten Tzu Chi Foundation.

Tzu Chi Donates Masks To Critical Organizations

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – In an effort to help protect front line workers and vulnerable groups against the highly infectious coronavirus COVID-19 disease, the St. Maarten Tzu Chi Foundation has donated a number of masks to a number of critical organizations for the added protection of their workers and clients.

In recent days, a large quantity of masks was donated to representatives of the St. Maarten Police Force, Pointe Blanche Prison, Miss Lalie Center Youth Detention Facility, Home Away from Home Taking Care of the Elderly Foundation, Hope Estate Recreational Center for the elderly, Hurricane Irma Integration Shelter as well as to individual volunteers and community leaders, who are constantly out assisting persons in the community.

Tzu Chi Continues Rice Relief, 611 Bags Of Rice Given To 605 Families

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The St. Maarten Tzu Chi Foundation continued its massive “love rice” relief distribution programme in August donating 611 bags of rice to 605 families around the island in that month.

The foundation estimates that the number of family members that will benefit from last month’s relief is almost doubled at 1,735. Each bag of rice weighs 10 kilograms. August rice distribution brings the total amount of rice Tzu Chi has distributed since the programme started just over two months ago to1,141 bags of rice to 1,084 families.
