No Ski Masks During Jouvert, If It Gets Too Dangerous, The Jam Will Shut Down

PHILIPSBURG--Justice Minister Anna Richardson and the Police Force of St. Maarten have sent a firm message on Wednesday that no ski masks or face coverings of any sort will be allowed during Thursday mornings jouvert jump up.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Hearts United Holistic Care Foundation (HUHCF) launched its Second Chance Hospitality Pilot Project on April 4th, 2023. This project is funded by the St. Maarten Development Fund (SMDF). After receiving our application, there were motivated to get this project off the ground even in its state of financial challenges in meeting the demands of its existing clientele.

PHILIPSBURG: --- Justice workers will receive a 25% advance payment as early as today April 26th, 2023, Minister of Justice Anna Richardson announced at the weekly press briefing on Wednesday. The Minister said that the Council of Ministers met with the unions over the weekend to discuss and determine the particulars of the payments which are based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2019.

Helmet Distribution Comes With Strong Message To Save Lives

MARIGOT--The Collectivit in conjunction with the Council for Security and Delinquency Prevention (Conseil Local de Scurit et de Prvention de la Dlinquance CLSPD) distributed free crash helmets to young people in Sandy Ground on Friday evening.

President of the Collectivit Louis Mussington, Second Vice-President Bernadette Davis, Territorial Councillors Martine Beldor and Raphal Sanchez were joined by the Prfectures Director of Cabinet Services Julien Marie to deliver to an assembled group of youngsters a strong message on safety and protection when riding two-wheelers.

No Meeting To Approve Ipko Delegation Due To No Quorum

Island Council Training On Bonaire Was Very Valuable.

SABA--The three-day training on Bonaire on April 11, 12, and 13 provided valuable insights for the new Island Council.

The training brought more insight into the role and responsibilities that you have as an Island Council member, said Elsa Peterson of the Windward Islands Peoples Movement (WIPM). For me, it was a bit more empowering, coming from the governments executive branch.
