PHILIPSBURG:--- The United Peoples Party headed by Theodore Heyliger and Democratic Party headed by Sarah Wescot Williams have decided to merge the two political parties to contest the February 2018 snap elections.
Stuart Johnson who is representing the United People’s Party submitted the credentials of the new political party “United Democratic Party (UDP) to the Electoral Council on Thursday for vetting.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The University of St.Martin (USM) Elite Alumni Foundation released its newest project which is geared towards the current situation at the insitution.

"It's one of the darkest days in the history of Education in our country especially with lack of true compassion shown for USM' s situation," remarked Stuart Johnson President of the USM Elite Alumni Foundation.

Mlk Receives Aquabox From Tzu Chi 

Philipsburg — The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School (MLK) received an innovative portable water filter container dubbed AquaBox from Sandra Cheung of the Tzu Chi Foundation.

“Contributions for our school and especially those benefiting our students does not go unnoticed. I deeply appreciate these initiatives as it will take the entire community to rebuild education in all facets,” remarked Stuart Johnson School Manager of MLK.

The simple boxes filter deadly bacterias like cholera and typhoid out of contaminated water making it safe to drink.

Lazy Lizard Recognizes Mlk Staff 

Philipsburg — The staff of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School (MLK) received a token of appreciation in recognition of World Teacher’s Day on Thursday morning from Lazy Lizard Restaurant.

Mlk Hosts Musical And Awards Day Celebration

 

PHILIPSBURG – The students of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School on Wednesday morning, June 21, participated in a musical and awards day celebration.

Students recapped the life values of Peace, Responsibility, Love, Cooperation, Dependability, Tolerance, Respect, Honesty and Unity, which they learned over this school year during the monthly assembly.

“We continue to strongly promote the development of our students socially, emotionally as well as their overall academic performance,” said School Manager Stuart Johnson.

The students also showcased and highlighted several local musical icons such as King Beau Beau, Calypso Barbara, The Mighty Dow and King Vers.

“It was surely a moment of true pride to see our students being recognized for their hard work and commitment over this school year,” Johnson said.

Students received awards in Language Arts, Mathematics, Dutch Language, Music, Sports, Most Helpful, Most Improved and the Principal’s Award.

DUTCH QUARTER – The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School (MLK) has added SocaFit classes as part of its weekly activities. A select group of 15 students of the Group 7 and Group 8 classes was chosen to participate in this special physical activity.

Mlk Jr School Joins Sxm Doet

DUTCH QUARTER – The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School (MLK) will be part of the upcoming SXM Doet project, which will take place on March 10 and 11. The project titled, “Beautification of Dr. MLK School” will involve the repainting of the entire school campus on March 11 from 7:00am.
