MARIGOT, San Martn – El fin de semana se llev a cabo la ceremonia de juramentacin de la nueva administracin en el lado norte de la isla.

Con la presencia de dignatarios provenientes de la regin, incluyendo funcionarios electos del lado holands de la isla, Anguila y Guadalupe, los 23 miembros electos del Consejo Territorial (16 de RSMA, 5 de Team Gibbs y 2 de Generation Hope) juraron su cargo en el presencia de invitados, familiares y amigos el domingo por la maana.

Louis Mussington Becomes The 6ThPresident Of French Saint Martin On Sunday

MARIGOT, Saint Martin – The swearing in ceremony of the new administration on the northern side of the island took place at the weekend.

Attended by dignitaries coming from the region including elected officials from the southern side of the island, Anguilla and Guadeloupe, the 23 elected Members of the Territorial Council (16 from RSMA, 5 from Team Gibbs and 2 from Generation Hope took oath of office in the presence of invited guests, family and friends Sunday morning.

The incoming executive government, which is spearheaded by the newly sworn in President of the Collectivit, Louis Mussington comprises 7 persons.

However, prior to the introduction of the President, Louis Mussington, the 23 Members of the Territorial Council were officially presented to the public.

Following the presentation, the newly elected President Louis Mussington was unanimously voted in by a vote of 23 Members of the Council to zero.

FRENCH, Quarter - The Collectivity needs to complete the unfinished work that is needed (in excess of E20, 000) for each Carbet, or allow us to deduct that expense from future rents.

Prime Minister Gumbs Attends Bastille Day Celebrations

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – Prime Minister Hon. Marcel Gumbs and Minister Hon. Claret Connor represented the Council of Ministers at the 14 of July Bastille Day Celebrations that took place in Marigot on Tuesday.

His Excellency Acting Governor Reynold Groeneveldt and several Members of Parliament were also present.

President of the Collectivite of Saint-Martin and Members of the Territorial Council extended an official invitation to the Council of Ministers to observe the July 14 celebrations.

St. Maarten/St. Martin Musical Icon Attacks President Hanson {Updated}

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Sxmislandtime.com has been reliably informed that Madame Aline Hanson, President of the Collectivite was aggressively attacked on Friday morning.

The incident occurred between 8:30 and 8:45 upon her arrival to office.

However, she was not hurt during the unfortunate moment.

The attacker is also said to be a well-known musician in the community, "Lino Hughes", of Lino and the Hardway band.

It is also alleged that the attacker is somewhat unstable at this time.

We also learnt the Lino used a frying pan to attack the President however the president reacted quickly and used her hand to fend off the attack.

Minister Of Youth Affairs Lourens-Philip: November 20 Is International Day On The Rights Of The Child

GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – The Minister of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports Hon. Patricia Lourens-Philip would like to wish every child and youth of the nation happy International Day on the Rights of the Child which is observed globally on November 20th.

St. Maarten/St. Martin Day Celebrated Tuesday, Celebrations Hosted By St. Martin

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The 66th anniversary of St. Maarten Day was celebrated on Tuesday, November 11th.

This year's celebrations were held on the French side, as it was their turn to host the activities marking the occasion this year.

The day started with an ecumenical service at the Methodist Church in French Quarter. This was then followed by the wreath laying ceremony at the frontier between Dutch Quarter and French Quarter in the morning.

Soon after the wreath laying ritual, dignitaries were transported to in front of the Cultural Center in French Quarter, where they witnessed the parade of the various uniform groups.

President Henson Happy About Possibilitys For Country Coming Out Of Operational Programme For European Cooperation

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - To the tune of 10 million Euros, on Monday morning, the government of St. Maarten and the Collectivite signed a letter of Intent Operational Programme for European Cooperation Territories.

The programme is geared specifically towards joint projects such as, the Waste Water Management, Disaster Management and Environment protection for the two sides of the island.

Prime Minister Wescot-Williams Signs Letter Of Intent With French Side For Waste Water Treatment Facility Benefitting Both Sides Of The Island

President Arrindell Meets French Cardinal Barbarin And Bishop Riocreux

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell had the honour of meeting Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese in France Cardinal Archbishop Philippe Barbarin.

The Cardinal was accompanied by Bishop of Basse Terre & Pointe a Pitre in Guadeloupe Jean-Yves Riocreux.
