THE HAGUE:--- Newly appointed Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary H.E. Hasani Ellis received a grand welcome to the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary in The Hague from Minister Plenipotentiary H.E. Henrietta Doran-York and the staff of her cabinet upon his arrival in The Netherlands.
Deputy Minister Ellis was first welcomed at the Schiphol Airport in the Royal Room of the VIP Lounge, after which he was brought to The Hague where he began his tenure at the Cabinet.
At the Cabinet, the Deputy Minister Ellis first met one on one with Minister Plenipotentiary Doran-York, who after first welcoming him officially to his new workplace, wished him much success during his tenure in The Hague and continued to inform him of the tasks of a Minister Plenipotentiary, and what was expected of him as Deputy Minister.

THE HAGUE:--- Minister Plenipotentiary, Her Excellency Mrs. Henrietta Doran-York recently received a courtesy visit from her colleague Minister Plenipotentiary of Curacao, H.E. Ms. Eunice Eisden, at the Cabinet of Sint Maarten in The Hague.
Minister Doran-York during her tenure as Member of Parliament in the former Netherlands Antilles, worked together with Minister Eisden in Parliament and also traveled together en route to Parlatino meetings in Paraguay and Argentina.

PHILIPSBURG:--- On Wednesday February 15th, Minister Plenipotentiary sat with her staff, to once again address the issue of rise in the unprepared “Free moving” students, (students that travel on their own, and not through the Bureau of Study financing), to The Netherlands, in an ambitious attempt to pursue their tertiary education.

For the past months, the cabinet of the Ministry Plenipotentiary in The Hague has been encountering numerous troubling situations with youngsters from Sint Maarten, who for whatever reason, have decided to take this route.

The Minister took note that while the students, making the choice to travel to the Netherlands on their own is on the rise, quite often the necessary preparations in terms of housing, the acceptance and enrolment into schools in particular, among other things, is not completed before these ambitious students leave Sint Maarten.

Being that they independently make contact with schools in The Netherlands, they are not in contact with the Study Financing Department on Sint Maarten, and therefore do not participate in the trainings offered that help the other students prepare for among other things, the change in the social and cultural landscape of the Netherlands to which they must adapt.

Condolence Message Of Pm Marlin To The York Family On The Passing Of Their Patriarch, Mr. Freddie York At 100 Years Old.

He was a century not out, until a few days later, he was caught with a leg spin by death. George Frederick Adolphus York, the patriarch of the York family, was in good spirits when we all came together to celebrate his 100th birthday.
