Ser Board Inactive As Term Ends, Govt. Grant 1 Year Extension, Then Withdraws It

PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten is currently without an active Social Economic Council (SER) board and chairman after the bodys term officially expired on April 30, a situation that could affect the review of major socio-economic legislation, labour matters and policy advice to government and Parliament.

SER advisor in Court to have his suspension lifted

PHILIPSBURG--Senior policy advisor of the Social Economic Council SER Arjen Alberts has filed a petition with the Civil Service Court against Minister of General Affairs Sarah Wescot-Williams.

In the petition, which was filed Wednesday, Alberts seeks the annulment of his suspension from his job as per April 29, and payment of study and travel expenses.
