PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — Independent Member of Parliament Christophe Emmanuel is seeking to obtain the letter read by St. Maartens Minister Plenipotentiary Rene Violenus during the most recent Kingdom Council of Ministers meeting in Holland on December 18, 2020. Emmanuel sent the request for the letter to the Chairperson of Parliament MP Rolando Brison on December 24.

Permission To Prosecute Mp Christopher Emmanuel Denied

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Appeal Court handed down its decision today on the request filed by the Public Prosecutor seeking permission to prosecute Member of Parliament Christopher Emmanuel.

The Public Prosecutor petitioned the Court for this permission on April 21, 2020 during the Lockdown in Sint Maarten. The case was handled on October 6th 2020 via teleconference.

MP Emmanuel accompanied by his attorneys Peggy Ann Brandon and Safira Ibrahim presented the position to the Court that the request should not be granted because while the prosecutor had ample time to investigate, no real effort was undertaken between January and October of this year to complete the investigation.

I would like to start by thanking Raeyhon Peterson for finally admitting publicly and in writing that, as I had set out to bring to light, the accusations levied against MP Christopher Emmanuel and his Chief of Staff were a fabrication!

The additional colorful statements made by Peterson and the written attack on Emmanuel and his Chief of Staff by one of his supporters and another person in the newspaper are of no relevance to me, as Peterson with his statement has already proven that he lied to everyone involved or at least to the judicial authorities.
