Toque De Queda En La Parte Francesa

PREFECTURA DE SAINT-BARTHLEMY Y SAINT-MARTIN (COMUNICADO DE PRENSA)--Saint-Martin el 4 de agosto de 2021 refuerzo de las medidas en la lucha contra el covid-19.

  Los ltimos datos de Public Health France muestran un fuerte aumento en el nmero de casos positivos para covid en San Martn (138 durante la semana del 26 de julio al 1 de agosto frente a 63 la semana anterior).  El hospital Louis Constant Fleming todava recibe una gran cantidad de pacientes, con 13 personas al 4 de agosto en la unidad de covid.  Hay que deplorar dos muertes en dos semanas. 

  En Saint-Barthlemy, el nmero de casos de covid tambin aument drsticamente con 170 nuevos casos del 19 al 25 de julio y 167 del 26 de julio al 1 de agosto.  La tasa de incidencia alcanz los 1705/100 000 habitantes y la tasa de positividad el 8,4%. 

Dado que la situacin sanitaria en Guadalupe y Martinica se ha deteriorado durante varias semanas y nuestro sistema hospitalario no puede hacer frente solo, el Prefecto de San Bartolom y San Martn ha decidido introducir medidas adicionales para frenar la propagacin del virus en nuestras islas.

Multiple Shots Fired At Man On A Scooter

The scene of the shooting as detectives collected forensic evidence.

ST. PETERS--A barrage of gunfire rang out on St. Peters Road around 2:45pm Friday, as a would-be killer attempted to end the life of a man on a scooter.  

  The shooting took place in the vicinity of Santos Bakery. Sources at the scene told The Daily Herald that a man wearing a white shirt and brown pants walked up to another man on a scooter and fired multiple times at close range. He then fled the scene on foot.

Active Covid-19 Cases Climb To 117 On French St. Martin

MARIGOTThe number of active COVID-19 cases has risen to 117, regional health agency ARS reported in its August 15 to 21 Health Bulletin, an increase of 36 cases since Wednesday and 67 since August 15.

This takes the total number of confirmed cases since the epidemic began to 176. Of the active cases 106 are confined to their homes and 11 have been hospitalised, seven of whom are in the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital and four in hospital in Guadeloupe Read more

Semsamar Announces Construction Of New Rehabilitation Clinic In St. Martin

Inter Generation Runners wins Semsamar relay race

MARIGOT—The new team Inter Generation Runners captained by Wilfred Sully won Sunday's 9th edition of the Semsamar Inter-Company relay race but did not beat last year's winning time.

Inter Generation were first in 2 hours 9:50, followed by the Gendarmerie team CLSG-Super U in second place in 2:12:45, Avenir Sportif Club Team was third in 2:22:1, Dream of Trails fourth in 2:27:36, and Louis Constant Fleming Hospital fifth in 2:28:22.

Hollande declares Court of First Instance will open January 2016

MARIGOT--President of the French Republic François Hollande made a number of sweeping announcements in his speech to the population of St. Martin at the end of his whirlwind visit to St. Martin last night. Among them were assurances that the social benefit (RSA) would be reformed to be more adaptable for St. Martin with help given to pay off the Collectivité's debt.

2,096 referred abroad for medical care in 2014

PHILIPSBURG--The number of Social and Health Care Insurances SZV patients who were refereed abroad for medical care was slightly higher in 2014 compared to the year before, according to figures provided by Acting Minister of Health Rita Bourne-Gumbs during the recent meeting of the Central Committee of Parliament on the draft 2015 budget.

There were 2,096 SZV referrals abroad in 2014 compared to 1,982 in 2013.

According to the minister, there were 996 referrals to Curaçao last year compared to 1,100 in 2013; 401 to Colombia last year compared to 437 in 2013; 603 to the Dominican Republic compared to 368 in 2013; 86 to Aruba last year compared to 48 in 2013; six to the Netherlands last year compared to 14 in 2013; none to Guadeloupe compared to three in 2013; none to Martinique compared to six in 2013; one to Jamaica in 2014 compared to one in 2013; and three to Puerto Rico in 2014 compared to five in 2013.

~ Training to better understand autism ~

SXM Autism Association is continuing to work to fill a need in our community. They have organized training on autism designed for the general public, in partnership with National Education, General Social Security Fund (SSTC) in Guadeloupe and SESSAD (Service d'Education Spéciale et de Soins à Domicile) in France. Dutch, French to do joint health study, launch health observatory
