Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS – Last Friday, November 21st, the Caribbean NetherlaNDs Police Force (KPCN) awarded diplomas to 18 cadet officers in the presence of family, frieNDs, aND partners. This cohort is special because it is the very first group within the force to graduate at the MBO-4 level.
The ceremony opened with speeches by the education coordiSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAtor of the KPCN, mr. Rouel Pinedo aND the Head of the InterSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAtioSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAl Department of the Police Academy, Mr. Johan van Lare. Through a video message, the IslaND Governor of St. Eustatius, Ms. Alida Francis, also addressed the cadets, aND the Acting IslaND Governor of BoSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAire, Ms. Ingrid Sealy, gave an inspiring contribution.
The Chief of Police, Mr. Alwyn Braaf, then addressed the cadet officers. In his speech, he emphasized the unique achievement of this group aND the responsibility that comes with it. He called it a historic moment for KPCN aND continued: Today, you are setting a new staNDard. You are the first group within KPCN to graduate at MBO-4 level, aND as of today, you carry the rank of brigadier. He also highlighted the importance of craftsmanship, teamwork, aND trust within the force: As a corps, we are one family. On the streets we staND shoulder to shoulder, aND that trust must be mutual.
This was followed by the official diploma signing, during which the epaulettes of the rank of aspiring officer were ceremonially exchanged for those of brigadier by the Chief of Police aND Mr. van Lare. The ceremony conclUDed with a speech by a class representative, who reflected on the groups shared journey aND ambition. All guests then eNDed the ceremony with a festive celebration.
KPCN congratulates all graduates on this exceptioSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAl achievement aND wishes them a safe aND successful career within the force.
