Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) over the weekend thanked TelEm’s CFO Helma Etnel and CCO Brian Mingo for their steadfast support of Carnival over the past five years and in the same breath congratulated new TelEm CEO Kendall Dupersoy on his appointment. Dupersoy is a former SCDF President.
The SCDF and TelEm broke barriers five years ago when the entities signed the largest contract Carnival ever entered into at that time. The agreement not only established TelEm as Carnival’s main sponsor, a title it still holds today, but set in motion creative ideas and events that has served to elevate Carnival locally and regionally.
TelEm and SCDF has given Carnival lovers and supporters popular events such as the Road to Carnival Parties, Night of the Hit Makers, expanded support of all pageants and parades, creative marketing initiatives and more. The two entities have recently extended their long-standing relationship an additional five years.
“Like with any new relationship with big intentions, our start with TelEm was a little rocky, but we eventually worked all of that out,†SCDF President Alston Lourens said. “It has worked out very well for both parties and today TelEm and SCDF are synonymous with each other. We would like to thank Helma and Brian for believing in St. Maarten’s Carnival product and for sticking with us through good and low times. TelEm, Helma and Brian has been there when others have not so we look forward to continuing our very fruitful relationship with TelEm,†he added.
Lourens also went on to congratulate new TelEm CEO Kendall Dupersoy on his appointment. “The board of the SCDF wishes Kendall nothing but success in his new role. Kendall of all people knows and understands the importance of Carnival to St. Maarten, so we look forward to productive discussions and new initiatives together in the coming five years,†Lourens said.
