Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten — “I have personally invited all political party leaders in St. Maarten to attend the presentation of Prof. Gunter Pauli on ‘The Blue Economy’ model for St. Maarten,†at Belair Community Center, Cay Hill, on Tuesday, September 20, at 8 PM, said Gracita Arrindell.
“Along with the open invitation to the public, this is a unique opportunity for everyone, regardless of political affiliation, sentiments or views, to hear about and even start practicing the economic model by Prof. Gunter Pauli,†said drs. Arrindell.
“The Blue Economy is not about gimmicks, but straight-forward and proven projects and programs that could re-energize and transform St. Maarten economically, and socially,†said Arrindell, leader of the People’s Progressive Alliance (PPA).
The Territory is at the height of its parliamentary election campaigning and Arrindell’s PPA is one of at least nine parties participating in the September 26 election.
“Prof. Pauli is not called the ‘Steve Jobs of Sustainability’ for nothing. He’s recognized as a real game-changer and has claimed many successes in sustainable growth all over the world, including in the Dutch Caribbean,†said Arrindell.
The Blue Economy programs and the talk that Pauli will give on Tuesday “is also abouttaking the informed chances to change and prosper as an individual, a business, and St. Maarten as a whole,†said Arrindell.
The Blue Economy model “will help St. Maarten people to understand and realize the potentials that are here in St. Maarten, to transform the quality of life. Small is beautiful!†said Arrindell.
“If we want to create a better government, a better economy, a better society it will require taking a completely different approach in how we want to solve many of the long lingering issues on our beautiful island,†said Gracita Arrindell.
