Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The Democratic Party takes this opportunity to extend best wishes to all students at the start of the school year 2015-2016.
We encourage students to start the year vigorously and remain focused throughout. Don't dwell on what was or could have been last year, but rather give this year your very best. Education should always remain your number one priority.
Parents, your child's success depends for a great part on the role you play in their lives, at home and at school. Regardless of the level that they are at, your guidance and support are indispensable. We know it can sometimes seem overwhelming. Our kids can be belligerent at times. Stand strong and know that there is support within the educational system, if you are open to such. Teachers need your help and support to steer our children on the right path.
To the teachers, we say : "the classrooms are becoming more and more challenging and with that so is your job of molding the next generations. We implore you not to become disheartened. Where would we all be if not for education?"
The fourth pillar of a successful school year is the community at large. General interest in the fate of our students and their education will greatly stimulate students and teachers alike.
To businesses we submit that any resources spent on education are well spent and the return will benefit us all.
The government knows its responsibility and our faction looks forward to the emphasis being put on education throughout all of governments programs and projects.
Together we can make this school year a successful, inspiring and productive one.
