Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius - The decision taken by the Kingdom government to impose higher supervision with immediate effect on the island of St. Eustatius was expected.
That is the view of Councilman of the Democratic Party, Nicholas Sneak.
Speaking to our news department, he stated that the Democratic Party sounded the alarm several months ago that this would have happened. However, no one paid attention.
According to the Councilman, based on the instruction given by the Dutch, some believe that the DP is rejoicing, nevertheless this is not the case, as this is a very sad thing for the island.
The Councilman is particular concern that several infrastructural projects on the island will be put on hold, due to the measure taken by the Dutch government.
He also noted that the Democratic Party is willing to work with the government in a bid to find a speedy solution to the financial difficulties of St. Eustatius.
