Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
SMN News learnt that Maduro was called in on Monday where he attended a short meeting with the Human Resources Manager and then left, The source said that Maduro was informed of the Board's decision on Tuesday and since then he did not return to work up until Monday morning when he attended a short meeting then left the premises. In the meantime the Chairman of the Supervisory board Rene Richardson allegedly denied to other media outlets that Maduro was not sent home or even suspended, yet Richardson told several of his close friends about the dismissal.SMN News further learnt from another board member that certain politicians intervened and requested that the board demote the COO Romelio Maduro and not fire him.
Rene Richardson also denied in the past that he took the SER to court when he was told that he had to resign because of his age. It is not clear if Richardson addressed the ongoing credit card investigation where both Maduro and Gartner credit cards were taken for the investigation.
Investigation on Credit Cards Mis-spending Submited --- No Sanctions taken against Gartner.
According to a board member of the Supervisory board of GEBE the report on the misuse of GEBE credit cards was submitted on Wednesday May 13th 2015.Based on the findings and contents of the report it is indeed proven that Rene Gartner misused GEBE credit cards when he purchased several airline tickets for his personal use. Gartner even went as far as purchasing a private satellite and has it in it in his office for his personal use. However, the leader of the UPP Theodore Heyliger chose to protect Gartner since he is the one that recruited him for the post he is holding at GEBE.In the case or Romelio Maduro the report states that Maduro has been using GEBE credit cards on an open tap at the cigar lounge and at brothels on the island. So far employees of GEBE cannot understand why no sanctions have been taken against Gartner who purchased a vehicle for $45,000.00 while he is only authorized to use $30,000.00 for the purchase of a vehicle. Most of the findings in the report shows that the two senior personnel of GEBE have been using GEBE credit cards for matters that are not related to their jobs.
