Mp Ottley: Petition To The Un Is Not A Call For Independence

Philipsburg, Sint Maarten – Member of Parliament for the United People’s Party MP Omar Ottley saysthe 2021 Parliament has exposed the untruth of the so-called 10-10-10 and St. Maarten’s autonomy, causing the main actors in that deal to “falsely claim that the March 9, 2021, Petition to the United Nations is a call for Independence.”

PHILIPSBURG PFP Members of Parliament Melissa Gumbs and Raeyhon Peterson once again reiterated their factions distance from the 5 November 2020 motion of Parliament relating to the decolonization process, after Parliament received a copy of a petition submitted by the Choharis Law Group to the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioners Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Racism and the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent.

Leaders Should Lead By Example

PHILIPSBURG – Before taking the COVID-19 vaccine at the Belair Community Center on Wednesday morning, faction leader of the National Alliance (NA), Member of Parliament (MP) William Marlin said that our leaders should lead by example.

He wanted the public at large to know, that because he believes the vaccine is safe and necessary, he and his wife Gabrielle have taken the shot in the arm.

After taking the vaccine and waiting to see if there would be any reactions for like 20 minutes, MP Marlin told reporters, that the injection in his right arm was painless, he said.  Taking the vaccine was definitely more comfortable than taking the COVID-19 test twice.
