PHILIPSBURG:--- The work carried out by the Collectivity and its provider Sogetras on the Sandy Ground Bridge has been done without major difficulties.
Everything has been done to activate the site and cause as little inconvenience as possible to users, so that the bridge will be able to reopen to road traffic as of Sunday, 10 days ahead of the forecast work schedule.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Member of Parliament (MP) Claudius Buncamper of the USP Faction in parliament voiced his concerns about the report of a firearm and drugs found in a students school bag during a random search by the schools authorities.
According to the article that appeared in the Daily Herald of Wednesday, September 1st, the student is now behind bars.
MP Buncamper, however, turned his attention in this matter towards the Minister of Education, Rudolphe Samuel, who during the 2021 budget debate in parliament, informed parliamentarians of his restructuring plans for schools, including the one where the unfortunate incident took place.

Ibrahim was contemplating on whether or not to resign since last week, it was expected that she was going to submit her resignation prior to the court hearing on Friday, however, SMN News has been reliably informed that the resignation letter was submitted on Monday.
Currently, the SBOD of NV GEBE consists of two members namely the chairlady Nina Diaz and Conrad Richardson, the two members attended the court hearing on Friday where the plead notes of the plaintiff were not presented to the court but was leaked by WhatsApp over the weekend, including the resignation letter of former board member Kenneth Serrant.  The articles of incorporation of the Government-owned company clearing state that the SBOD must have at least 3 members or a maximum of 7 members.
