Three honoured on Labour Day for championing workers’ rights

PHILIPSBURG--Three persons were honoured for their contributions to protect and champion workers’ rights in St. Maarten during a ceremony at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort on Labour Day, Friday, May 1.

>GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- In accordance with the current Governing Accord, the Council of Ministers (COM) met with the Supervisory Board and Management of the Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS).

The meeting was requested by the Interim Managing Director to discuss some urgent matters. Up to this date, COM has conducted several shareholders meetings with supervisory boards and management among which were TelEm, NV GEBE, St. Maarten Harbour Group of Companies, and the Holding Company of Princess Juliana International Airport.

It is the intention to schedule additional meetings with the other Government owned companies in the coming weeks and months.

Council Of Ministers Meets With Pss Board Of Supervisory Directors And Management

GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – In accordance with the current Governing Accord, the Council of Ministers (COM) met with the Supervisory Board and Management of the Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS).

>PHILIPSBURG:--- The Supervisory Board of Directors (SBD) of Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS) recently had a meeting to discuss a number of matters concerning the ongoing progress of PSS.

Stuart Johnson currently the vice-chairman has been unanimously chosen by the entire SBD to become the second Chairman of the board since its October 2010 inception.

Johnson has been serving since August as Interim-chairman which was a decision taken by former Prime Minister and former Shareholder of PSS Sarah Wescot-Williams who informed the SBD that is was done due to Mr Hubert Pantophlet resigning as the then Chairman of the board.

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Management and staff of Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS N.V.) sprung a 35th Anniversary Day surprise for Interim Director, Ms. Antonia Wilson, at the main post office branch Tuesday.

Saba-born, Ms. Wilson, has been an integral part of postal services on St. Maarten ever since she joined the forerunner to the present company, on 1st November 1979.
