New Fleet Of 10 Emergency Vehicles Delivered To Ambulance, Fire Dept.

CAY HILL--A new fleet of ten emergency vehicles has been delivered to the St. Maarten Fire and Ambulance Department, marking another milestone in the countrys recovery and disaster preparedness, the National Recovery Program Bureau (NRPB) has announced.

The fleet includes seven specialised command, fire brigade and fire service vehicles and three vehicles for the ambulance service.

Sint Maarten Prepares For Reconstruction Of Sint Maarten Library

Sint Maarten The NRPB is pleased to announce that several pre-demolition activities have commenced in preparation for the reconstruction of the Sint Maarten Library, formerly known as the Philipsburg Jubilee Library. PHILIPSBURG:---  The wastewater treatment system at the Leonald Conner Primary School in Cay Bay has now fully resumed operations, thanks to repairs through the Sint Maarten Trust Fund. Not many Sint Maarten schools can boast of having an in-house system to treat and process the wastewater from its bathrooms and canteen. The Leonald Conner School was one of them - at least that was until Hurricane Irma devastated the island in the early morning hours of September 6, 2017. In addition to severe damage to the schools building, the wastewater treatment plant was rendered inoperable by Irmas catastrophic winds.

Thirty volunteers clean up Fort Amsterdam

The meeting presented the draft vision for Integrated Solid Waste Management on Sint Maarten by 2030. Based on previous discussions within government, this document outlines a future in which persons act responsibly and the country is greener and more sustainable. It also sketches a future in which solid waste materials are reduced, reused, and recycled, and where waste management is funded through structural means and executed by a Waste Authority.

Ambulance Workers Complete Operational And Maintenance Training For New Ambulances

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten Personnel of the Sint Maarten Ambulance Department have successfully completed a five-day training course to familiarize themselves with the four (4) brand new ambulance vehicles that were delivered in late December 2022.

Conducted by ambulance manufacturer REV Group and Zoll, the training sessions focused on the use and maintenance of the ambulances and their operating systems. It also included a train-the-trainer” component to enable local ambulance workers to provide these operational and maintenance training courses in the future.

At a combined cost of approximately US $1.2 million, the new ambulances were procured through the Sint Maarten Trust Fund, which is financed by the Government of the Netherlands, managed by the World Bank, and implemented by the National Recovery Program Bureau (NRPB) on behalf of the Government of Sint Maarten.

Trabajadores De Ambulancias Completan Capacitacin Operativa Y De Mantenimiento Para Nuevas Ambulancias

El personal del Departamento de Ambulancias de Sint Maarten complet con xito un curso de capacitacin de cinco das para familiarizarse con los cuatro (4) vehculos de ambulancia nuevos que se entregaron a fines de diciembre de 2022.

Realizadas por el fabricante de ambulancias REV Group y Zoll, las sesiones de formacin se centraron en el uso y mantenimiento de las ambulancias y sus sistemas operativos. Tambin incluy un componente de “capacitacin de capacitadores” para permitir que los trabajadores de ambulancias locales brinden estos cursos de capacitacin operativa y de mantenimiento en el futuro.

Con un costo combinado de aproximadamente US$1,2 millones, las nuevas ambulancias se adquirieron a travs del Fondo Fiduciario de Sint Maarten, financiado por el Gobierno de los Pases Bajos, administrado por el Banco Mundial e implementado por la Oficina del Programa Nacional de Recuperacin (NRPB) en nombre del Gobierno de Sint Maarten.
