Jacobs Would Like Formation Process Done By End Of Week

Formateur Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs.

PHILIPSBURG--Formateur Silveria Jacobs said on Wednesday that she would like the formation process for the new Council of Ministers finalised by the end of this week.

She said on Wednesday that she has not yet finalised the formation report and the process has not been completed.

Island Gems Helps Dorcas Foundation

ZAGERSGUT- Dorcas Foundation is the latest recipient of assistance from the all-women Island Gems Charity Foundation. Dorcas provides cooked food several days a week to shut-ins and others for whom accessing a warm healthy meal is a challenge.

Island Gems, as it has done in the past, gave Dorcas US $500 worth of food supplies to aid the continuing food programme. Island Gems member Jody Rosen and Dorcas Director of Activities Mavlet Gordon worked together to acquire all the ingredients possible with the monetary allocation. Meeting Continues Today On Cfatf-Related Laws Update

PHILIPSBURG--The parliamentary session where Justice Minister Egbert Jurendy Doran is providing an update to Members of Parliament (MPs) on the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) will continue today, Wednesday at 2:00pm.

Government Working On A Solution For Giro Bank

WILLEMSTAD – There is light at the end of the tunnel for the Giro Bank. While there are still some finishing touches regarding an agreement, but a good part of the portfolio of performing loans of the Giro Bank will be transferred to the new APC Bank, which belongs to the General Pension Fund Curaao. When the APC Bank will start its operations is not yet known.

Another issue that will be resolved is that all account holders and deposit holders can dispose of the full amount of the funds they have at Giro Bank.
