Constitution Court Rules The Government Of Sint Maarten Has Not Acted Unconstitutionally

Philipsburg, Sint Maarten — On Monday, November 1, the Constitutional Court did not support the request filed by the Ombudsman of Sint Maarten on April 26, concerning the three temporary national ordinances to cut the employment benefits of civil servants, (semi) public sector workers and political authorities. The three contested national ordinances were issued by the government of Sint Maarten on July 1, 2020, and passed in Parliament on February 3, 2021.

Mecys & Unicef The Netherlands Sign Mou And Plan For 2022

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport (MECYS) and UNICEF the Netherlands, has been signed by the minister, Drs. Rodolphe E. Samuel, and Executive Director, Suzanne Laszlo. The signing was witnessed by Sasja Bkkerink, Programs and Public Affairs Director, (UNICEF NL). The MOU formalizes the parties long standing working relationship to improve the situation for children and youth on Sint Maarten. The Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor (VSA), Omar Ottley, was also present to express his support.
