Philipsburg, Sint Maarten – El Ministro interino de Turismo, Asuntos Econmicos, Trfico y Telecomunicaciones (TEATT), Omar Ottley, firm un acuerdo de nivel de servicio con la entidad local, A&A Accounting, Business Support & Training Center para lanzar un programa de capacitacin y soporte comercial. El programa esta orientado al desarrollo de las micro, pequeas y medianas empresas en la Isla (MIPYMES).

El programa de capacitacin y apoyo empresarial, que est programado para comenzar en septiembre de 2022, fue conceptualizado con base en el Marco de Poltica Nacional MIPYMES y est diseado como una solucin sostenible para ayudar a fortalecer y hacer crecer a las MIPYMES y superar problemas temporales de liquidez, proteger empleos y al mismo tiempo permitir la continuidad del negocio y las operaciones eficientes con miras a posicionar mejor a las MIPYMES para hacer frente a las consecuencias econmicas.

PHILIPSBURG:--- On August 2nd, 2022, The acting Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunication (TEATT), Omar Ottley signed a service level agreement with a local entity, A&A Accounting, Business Support & Training Center to launch a training and business support program geared towards the development of micro, small and medium enterprises on the Island (MSMEs).

The training and business support program, which is scheduled to commence in September 2022, was conceptualized based on the National MSME Policy Framework and is designed as a sustainable solution to help strengthen and grow MSMEs and to overcome temporary liquidity problems, protect jobs and, at the same time, allow efficient business continuity and operations with the view to better position MSMEs to cope with the economic fallout.

The program which is expected to run for one year in the first instance will allow for the training of 25 existing and aspiring MSMEs and it will cover two components:

Winair Nor Civil Aviation Did Not Inform Government On The Dispute With The Dominican Republic.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Acting Minister of TEATT Omar Ottley confirmed on Wednesday that the government of St. Maarten was not officially informed of the decision taken by Civil Aviation St. Maarten to ban all carries from the Dominican Republic on Monday.
Ottley said that the director of Civil Aviation is mandated to take such decisions, but he should have informed then cooler heads would have prevailed because he would have intervened prior to the matter escalating.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Following previous announcements of a new basket of goods, which increased from 12 to 72 items, the Ministry of TEATT hereby informs the public that the new basket will be going into effect on Monday, August 1, 2022.
The new basket, which is being regulated by Ministerial Regulation, allows for more flexible adjustments in the future. Revocation of the National decree containing general measures which regulate the current basket of 12 items, has been approved by the Council of Advice and is presently in the final stages of the revocation process.
