Gebe: No Disconnections, No Late Fees Until September

PHILIPSBURG--Utilities company GEBE appears to be giving consumers until September with no late fees and no disconnections.
The company, which will reopen for physical payments as of Monday, June 6, announced in an update that there will be no disconnections until September and no late fees will be charged to bills until September.
According to the update published on the company's Facebook page, GEBE's Philipsburg branch will reopen to the public on June 6 from 6:30am to 4:30pm Mondays through Fridays, and on Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00 noon Read more

Some of the employees contacted SMN News over the weekend saying that Daniel who held the position of Internal Auditor for a number of years has been demanding that they address her as dr Daniel while not addressing the issues affecting them.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The management board of GEBE has paid former Supervisory Board member Louis Wever for five months even though he resigned from the post when his son Chris Wever was appointed Minister of VROMI on August 30th, 2019. Louis Wever was obliged to resign from his post to avoid a conflict of interest. However, removing himself from the board did not affect him financially since he was paid for 5 months by the current management board led by Kenrick Chittick.

PHILIPSBURG:---Utility provider GEBE and the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) have partnered for Carnival 2017 to specifically highlight SCDF’s Culture Night and culture in general throughout Carnival. PHILIPSBURG – NV GEBE celebrated its yearly “Santa Comes to GEBE,” where children from the I Can Foundation, Hope Outreach Foster Care, and students of the public schools received an early Christmas gift at GEBE’s Christmas Village located on the Ring Road.

Over 300 gifts were distributed this year to children ages of 2-12. Children within the public schools were selected by the teachers. The children were joyful and enjoyed the day GEBE hosted in their honor.
