Separate Ordinance To Regulate Timeshare Being Considered Say's Dp

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The meeting, requested by the DP faction in Parliament on the 2 draft time-share laws took place on Thursday, February 5th.

Unfortunately, Minister Conner was not able to attend, however the minister sent 2 advisors to assist at the meeting.

Also present was the Minister of Justice, within whose purview the civil code falls.

Parties agreed that we will work together to expeditiously respond to the advice of the Council of Advice. This is a necessary part of the legislative process.

Under consideration is also a separate ordinance to regulate timeshare rather than pursue amendments to the civil code for timeshare.

This will circumvent the language issue to a great extent. The text however will remain the same as the current timeshare draft.

Contact has already been established with Professor Jan de Boer, who assisted greatly with the drafting of the 2 initial drafts.

The other persons who originally assisted with the draft initiatives will also be involved. The process to come to a response to the Council of Advice will be coordinated by the office of the Minister of TEATT, however the DP faction will be paying keen attention, as the responsibility for the initiative draft laws lies with this faction.

In the picture, in addition to the persons mentioned, are Mr. J. James and Mr. B. Reins of Minister Conner's cabinet as well as Mr. Emil Lee and Mr J. Rosen.
