Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The decrease in the cost of fuel use to generate electricity should be passed on immediately to the people of St. Maarten, echoed Prime Minister with the responsibility for General Affairs, the Honorable Marcel Gumbs.
However, Mr. Gumbs, who was at the time responding to a question put to the Council of Ministers regarding that issue during the National 2015 Budget Debate on Friday, January 23rd stated that the Minister of VROMI has not yet had the opportunity to sit with GEBE to discuss the technicalities of the issue.
It is the intention of the Ministry to sit with the Water and Electricity Company shortly to be informed of the situation, as well as to communicate government's position on the matter to make certain that the populace get relief in the fuel clause as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister, who was reacting to some of the many questions asked, also addressed matters with regard to the waste and management facility.
