PHILIPSBURG:--- Students in Primary and Secondary schools in St. Maarten have started their exam period this week.
Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports drs. Rodolphe Samuel extends best wishes for success and encourages students to remain focused. Samuel explained that the government continues to prioritize children's education and has a vested interest in the island's students doing well. The Education Minister paid a visit to one of the Primary schools on Monday morning to wish the students success and extended these wishes to all students currently sitting exams.
"You must remember that these exams play a vital role in determining your future. Don't treat them as just another test at school but don't feel so pressured that you find them frightening. Take the time to review the material, read the questions thoroughly before attempting to answer, stay focussed on what you are doing, and don't be distracted, " Minister Samuel advises.
Minister Samuel also advises parents of the students sitting exams to be as supportive as possible and assist with reviewing the materials for the next day's exams. He notes that exams are a way of judging a student's performance and said he is pleased that students can do these exams as scheduled. Samuel added that he would continue to work closely with stakeholders in education and prioritize students and their well-being.
"Above all, I wish success to all our students on their exams, and I HOPE that through your hard work and dedication, you will achieve your desired results," Drs. Samuel concludes.
