Semi-finals set as Futsal nears champ

PHILIPSBURG--Basil Wong scored six goals to lead Paradise inn to a 12-4 victory in the Super league Division of the St. Maarten Futsal Association Competition at L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium Sunday. The win sent Inn into the semi-finals. Paradise inn will now face defending champions Strikers FC.
  In the other semi-final Presidente will face Risc Takers.  President advanced to the next round with a 6-4 win over Shak’Eat. Baron Dupre and Saintval Jude both scored a pair of goals in the winning effort.
    Risc Takers bested NAGICO Fun Makers 6-3. Jeroen van Dorresteijn, Larisse Jai and Herbert Beldman all netted two balls a piece for the Takers.
  The competition began with two groups of eight teams. The top four teams advanced to the Super League the remaining continued play in the Division League
 Boelijn Ramsley scored four times as he led Emile Photo to a 7-4 win over Presidente Light.  The win advances Photo into the next round were they will face Marine United.
  United advanced by crushing Uprising Stars 6-1. Dwayne Forbes was the top striker netting two.
Flames and Ghetto Boys advanced after winning matches the week before.
  Action resumes Sunday with a women’s exhibition match at 2:00pm and the first semifinals set to kick off at 4:00pm.
