Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
St. Maarten – The “vital careers†that Country St. Maarten will need “should the country decide to move away from the Dutch Kingdom and become an independent country in the Caribbeanâ€, were discussed with sixth graders of the Sister Marie Laurence Primary School in Middle Region by MP Tamara Leonard.
The sixth graders will head to high school in the new school year. Leonard, a businesswoman, spoke to the pupils about the careers the country needs now and in the future for it to continue to progress and grow stronger as a country. Pupils were also given a motivational talk by Leonard, who encouraged them to stay in school, focus on achieving the highest educational standards and to choose careers that will benefit their country.
Leonard will return to the school in two weeks to see the career choices the pupils believe will serve them in the future. The school will hold a small career expo with displays from pupils about their career choices. Pupils are also expected to give explanations about their career choice.
