PHILIPSBURG:---- Members of U 2 CAN MOVE on Thursday, March 31st, began to register and weigh in for the project "Move N Lose" . This project pools members of the U2CM organization in 2 groups, lead by 4 instructors to collectively lose weight during a period of 4 weeks.U 2 Can Move is an initiative started in 2012 by then Prime Minister, Sarah Wescot-Williams to promote an active lifestyle amongst especially women.
This program continues with activities such as Zumba classes and exercises 3 times weekly. At any given session, 30-plus women and girls take active part.Move N Lose is a fun way to deal with a serious topic: Women's health.This World Health Day's observance focuses on diabetes under the theme: "Beat Diabetes"."The causes are complex, but the increase is in large part due to rapid increases in overweight, including obesity and physical inactivity". ( WHO website)Participants in the two Move N Lose groups will devise any additional activities to "beat" the other team at the combined amount of pounds lost at the end of the period.
