Official Funeral Ceremony Today For Officer Boasman

PHILIPSBURG--Police are mourning the death of police officer Alexander Anselmo Boasman, who will be laid to rest today. Police released an extensive programme for public knowledge.

At 10:00-10:30am, family members will be escorted to the Royal Funeral Home and colleagues will be able to pay their last respect. At 10:30-10:45am, family members will have a private moment with the deceased.

From 11:00-11:20am, the body of Selmo will be escorted to the Philipsburg Police Head Quarters where in the presence of the Chief of Police, a picture of the deceased will

be placed in the photo gallery, along with a route of honour guards in the street. At 12:30pm, the body will be escorted to the Fire Station in Cay Hill for a short ceremony by his colleagues at the Fire Department.

There will be an honour guard at the Fire Department in place; from 12:30-1:30pm, the body will be escorted to the Roman Catholic Church in Front Street for public viewing. The Minister of Justice and Chief of Police will deliver speeches for 1:45pm to the gathering; the official church service will begin at 2:00pm. Following the service the body will be transported to the crematorium of the Royal Funeral Home.

Honour guards will assemble along the Sucker Garden Road, and a march by different uniform departments will take place. During this ceremony three “Salvo” shots will be fired by the honour guard after which “Selmo” will be placed to rest bringing the ceremony to an end.

In connection with this funeral the following road closures will take place today, Saturday March 12: E.C. Richardson street from 6:00am to 6:00pm; Sucker Garden Road from 2:45pm from Freedom fighters to Guana Bay Road; and, Front street from 9:00am from Sea Palace till Voges Street.
