SIMPSON BAY—Omarco Robinson is setting his sights on the overall points win after winning Sunday’s 10.3K Run, the second of three in the Red Cross “3 For Life “ series  to add to his win in the 7K race on August 9.
Robinson crossed the finish line in 39:51, a minute ahead of Alain Boucaud while third placed AUC student Chris Robertz finished in 42:05.
Leading triathlete Gregory Pigeon was fourth in 42:33 and trail runner Anthony Durand took fifth place in 45:09.
There was another outstanding run by Kai Piscione to win the Junior category in 47:35 to take ninth place overall. Kai was also the Junior winner in the first race.
Second in the Junior category was Pink Shakeba finishing in 51:35 for 16th place overall. Patricia Nolf was the first female crossing the line in 51:54 for 17th place. Pascale Tshirart was 23rd overall (55:27) and Emmanuelle Nadaud 24th overall (55:34).
This time the course took the runners through Simpson Bay and up the hill to Harold Jack’s and the roundabout at the GEBE reservoirs before returning back down to Cole Bay and the Union Road, over the Causeway Bridge to the finish at the Red Cross headquarters on the Airport Road where a breakfast was laid on for all finishers.
Robinson, Boucaud and Robertz took the lead from the outset sticking closely together with Pigeon just a few metres behind.
Organiser Tri Sport for the Red Cross was delighted with the turnout of 73 runners, well over double the turnout for the first 7K run in August. Some 67 runners finished.
The triple running competition was created by the Red Cross Youth Chapter to promote healthy living and to raise funds for its projects for training and development of its members in disaster management and First Aid instruction.
The final event will be a 17K Run on November 15.
