Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The Permanent Committee of Kingdom Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Relations of St. Maarten, met last week to discuss the preparations for the upcoming IPKO meetings which are scheduled to take place on St. Maarten in January of 2016.
The last IPKO talks between the Dutch Parliament and that of Aruba, Curacao and St. Maarten had many bumps.
There was even talk of a boycott of the next meeting in January, a situation that has increased the level of difficulty for the host country which happens to be St. Maarten.
According to MP the Honorable Dr. Lloyd Richardson, these obstacles must be handled quickly.
Meanwhile the Chair of the Permanent Committee of Kingdom Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Relations MP the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams during the meeting spoke of the limitations of the IPKO meetings. She also paid special attention to the role of the various governments in the execution process.
The government of St. Maarten was also not left out as far as the need for increased scrutiny when it comes to execution.
