Motorworld donates to USM new school, SCELL

>PHILIPSBURG:--- University of St. Martin (USM) announced the opening of its new school named “The St. Martin School of Continuing Education and Life Long Learning (SCELL)”, which was launched on August 1, 2015. Since the opening of SCELL the school has received an overwhelming reception from the Business Community. Motor World recently joined the ranks of Windward Island Bank, Ltd (WIB) as a sponsor of SCELL by donating a non-disclosed amount to the school.
Motor World Marketing officer, Mr. Lorenzo Gomez stated that Motor World decided to support SCELL because they believe that the school mission and vision is vital for the community. USM is the key educational institution on the island and we feel compelled to ensure its success and know that our contribution will enrich the school services and program development. This contribution showcases our confidence in the training opportunities offered by SCELL.
SCELL Director, Dr. Natasha Gittens expressed her gratitude to Motor World and hopes that their initiative will motivate other businesses to follow suit. This sponsorship is not just an investment in the school however should also be regarded as an investment in the advancement of the community. Dr. Gittens further stated that her team is working diligently on developing trainings and workshops. Newly developed, SCELL Brain Bytes Workshop Series which is sponsored by WIB is scheduled to commence in September. Brain Bytes series are intimate 2 hour workshops that will be offered to the public on Saturday mornings and afternoons in September and October at USM. Workshops will cost $25 US and focus on personal development. Individuals ages 16 and up are encouraged to attend.
In November SCELL, in association with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institutes, (AHLEI) will offer the Certified Guest Services Professional Training. The training will take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2016. The Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP®) designation provides recognition for those individuals that know how to achieve and express exceptional service by engaging with their guests and creating memorable experiences. Recognized worldwide, the CGSP® designation is the highest acknowledgment of awarding-winning guest service for employees in the hospitality industry.
