PHILIPSBURG:--- Minister of Education Silveria Jacobs announced on Wednesday at the Council of Minister’s Press Briefing that government is closer to streamlining the school busses policy. She said the department of legal affairs gave a number of advice as they look to tighten the policy. The Minister said that in the very near future school bus owners, parents and the schools will be informed of the changes that will be made with regards to school bus transportation.
Minister Jacobs said her Ministry has been working closely with the Ministry of TEATT to put a proper policy in place which would also allow government (Ministry of Education) to better spend their funds which are already limited.

Bute Takes On A Division 1 University

PHILIPSBURG – For the first time in history, St. Maartener Shemar Deion Bute has been drafted to a Division 1 school.

Bute, a graduate of Tallahassee Community College (TCC) will be attending Connecticut Central State University (CCSU) in the Fall of 2017. He currently plays center, but will be a forward at CCSU. Bute is a graduate of St. Maarten Academy and was awarded Athlete of the Year.

2017 Commencement Brings Graduates And Their Families To St. Maarten

 

CUPECOY – Graduates of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) gathered in St. Maarten on Saturday, May 27, to attend the school’s 2017 Commencement Ceremony. The event honored attendees’ academic accomplishments and signaled the start of graduates’ professional careers as MD-credentialed physicians.

Minister Of Culture Jacobs Attends St. Louis Freetown Feast

ST. LOUIS – On Sunday May 21st, Minister of Culture The Honorable Silveria Jacobs visited the annual Rambaud St. Louis Freetown Fete. The annual fete is organized by the Rambaud – St. Louis Committee led by Mr. Etienne “Rocky” Andrew.
