Plenary Session Of Parliament About The Sale Of The New Government Administration Building Reconvenes On Wednesday.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The House of Parliament will sit in a plenary public session on May 18. The Minister of General Affairs will be present for the session.
The plenary public meeting reconvenes on Wednesday at 3.00 pm in the General Assembly Chamber of the House at Wilhelminastraat #1 in Philipsburg.
The agenda point is the sale of the new government administration building.
This plenary session of the House was requested by Members of Parliament (MPs) MP Franklin Meyers, MP Leona Marlin-Romeo and MP Van Hugh Cornelius de Weever.
Members of the public are invited to the House of Parliament to attend parliamentary deliberations.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Member of Parliament Christopher Emmanuel raises concerns over quality of service provided by SZV to pensioners and other clients.

“Over the past several months, I have received several visits and calls from AOV pensioners regarding the inconsistent payment dates of their monthly pension. The inconsistency in the date pensioners receive their monthly AOV pension has been a concern of pensioners for some time now.”

In addition to pensioners other SZV clients have approached the Member of Parliament regarding the diminishing quality of customer service provided by SZV, especially communication and follow-up as it pertains to medical referrals overseas.

Member of parliament Emmanuel through the chairlady of parliament has submitted a formal request to the Management of SZV, requesting that the concerns of the pensioners and clients be addressed and provide clarification regarding the following:

• Is there a set date for pensioners to receive their AOV pension payments
• Is SZV’s liquidity position a cause for the inconsistency of the payment date of pensions
• Are their policies and procedures in place to ensure excellent quality of service
• Is there an awareness campaign informing clients, how to officially submit complaints to
SZV regarding inadequate service

Ambulance Dept. Staffers Undergo Intense Training

PHILIPSBURG--Dutch nurse practitioners Ruud Verhalle, and Rogier Evenhuis delivered an intense training in basic life support and advanced life support to ambulance staffers last week.

Verhalle and Evnhuis are nurse practitioners in emergency care at the Regional Ambulance Service (RAV) located in Brabant Middle-West, North Holland.

The training was done in collaboration with RAV as part of a three-and-a-half year cooperation agreement between the two ambulance services that was signed in 2015.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — On Sunday, May 15, during the afternoon to evening hours, numerous calls came into the Police Central Dispatch complaining of a large group of motorcycles and scooters driving recklessly, causing a great deal of unnecessary noise, disrupting the peace, and causing public disorder in Philipsburg and surrounding areas.

The riders also were not wearing proper safety gear such as helmets. Police patrols were dispatched in search of the riders. PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - On Sunday May 15th in the afternoon to evening hours numerous calls came into the Police Central Dispatch of a large group of motorcycles and scooters were riding recklessly and causing a great deal of unnecessary noise and in doing so disrupting the peace and causing public disorder in Philipsburg and surrounding areas.
