PHILIPSBURG:--- Police are busy investigating an accident that took place on L. B Scott Road by the entrance of Emilio Wilson Estate where a motorcycle rider slammed into a car that was turning left to go towards the foot ballfield. The motorcycle rider passed away shortly after. SMN News learned that the deceased driver is known to all in the community of Simpson Bay as Jason Peterson.
Police Spokesman Joe Josepha issued the short statement above and said more information will be released on Thursday.

PHILIPSBURG: --- The Minister of Health Omar Ottley announced on Wednesday at the Council of Ministers press briefing those 12 persons lost their lives due to COVID -19 during the month of August. Of those 9 of those persons were unvaccinated, 2 were partly vaccinated and one was fully vaccinated. Constitutional Court To Deliberate And Present Judgement Within A Reasonable Time.

PHILIPSBURG (DCOMM):--- The Constitutional Court of Sint Maarten, sat on Friday, August 20, in the case of the Ombudsman versus the Government of Sint Maarten in connection with three ordinances that were adjusted based on conditions from the Kingdom Government in order for Sint Maarten to receive financial support due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The case was filed by the Ombudsman against the Government on April 26.

It is disheartening that certain political figures are quick to spread misleading rumors with zero facts.
