Webster Brothers Court Case Postponed Until October 13

MARIGOTA hearing that should have taken place in the Marigot court house on Thursday, May 5, involving the three Webster brothers was postponed until October 13 due to the absence of one of the brothers lawyers.

  The brothers were summoned to court accused of blocking the RN7 road in Griselle, Cul-de- Sac, with heavy equipment over four days in January to draw attention to their protest against the auctioning off in Guadeloupe of a parcel of land on January 25, 2022, that belonged to their father Pierre Rudolphe Webster and for which he has a notarised deed.

Minister Ottley Meets With The Exit Strategy Team To Discuss The Steps Towards Normalcy.

PHILIPSBURG:---The Minister of Public Health, Social Development, and Labor, Omar Ottley met with the exit strategy team where Collective Prevention Services (CPS) presented the trajectory and steps to be taken towards normalcy. The team consists of CPS, General practitioners, Laboratory services, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC), and the Cabinet of the Minister.

In the meeting, the following timeline was established to move
towards normalcy;

March 25th, 2022
Will mark the end of case management and source & contact
tracing by CPS.

April 1st, 2022
Unvaccinated persons will be allowed to enter the country with a
24-hour Antigen test.

April 29th, 2022

Dutch Parliament Visits Saba

SABA — A delegation of 10 members of the First and Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament visited Saba on Monday, May 2. Besides the formal part meeting with the Executive Council and Island Council, the program included a presentation session on topics such as poverty, public health, tourism and economic development, as well as a meet and greet and various site visits.

The delegation arrived with a Winair charter from St. Maarten in the morning and was welcomed by Island Governor Jonathan Johnson, Island Secretary Tim Muller and Government Advisor/Second Acting Island Secretary Gerald Simmons-de Jong.
Members of the management team of the Saba Electric Company (SEC) Dexter Johnson, Mark Zagers and David Leonce met with the delegation right after arrival to give information on the investments in renewable energy, the Saba Energy Strategy 2020-2030 and the ambition of 100 percent sustainable energy, and the challenges such as the steep increase in the cost of importing fuel for the generators.

THE BOTTOM, Saba – Una delegacin de 10 miembros de la Primera y Segunda Cmara del Parlamento holands visit Saba el lunes 2 de mayo. Adems de la reunin formal con el Consejo Ejecutivo y el Consejo Insular, el programa incluy una sesin de presentacin sobre temas como la pobreza, la salud pblica, el turismo y el desarrollo econmico, as como una reunin para conocer y saludar y hacer varias visitas al lugar.
La delegacin lleg con un vuelo chrter de Winair desde St. Maarten por la maana y fue recibida por el gobernador de la isla, Jonathan Johnson, el secretario de la isla, Tim Muller, el asesor gubernamental/segundo en funciones y el secretario de la Isla Gerald Simmons-de Jong.

Tripartite And Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultations (Ipko) 2022 To Be Hosted In Sint Maarten.

PHILIPSBURG:--- From May 4 - 6, 2022, the Parliament of Sint Maarten will be hosting the Tripartite and Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultations (IPKO).
