Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG /MARIGOT, St Maarten/ St. Martin - SXM GIRLS Night out will present the proceeds of their action "SHOP for A CAUSE" to Le Manteau in honor of the opening of their center for Abused women.
SXMGNO is proud to associate themselves to such a worthy cause. According to Bernadette Davis, one of the organizers of the event, " growing up in SXM , we lived thru that and for an older generation many of us thought it was a part of life.
What is amazing is domestic violence has not abated and is rampant in our community and now we see our young women are also affected.
It can no longer be this little dirty secret. I commend the team at Le Manteau for taking this first step. They need a lot of help and support".
SXMGNO is organizing it's third annual event that will be held at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort on Saturday June 6, 2015.
According to Ogechi Anyanwu, the Founder of SXMGNO, "we are setting an ambitious goal this year for SHOPPING FOR A CAUSE, we want to make sure each of our Islands ( Anguilla, Fr SXM & Dutch SXM) receive at least $1000.00 towards a woman's cause.
We are therefore asking our businesses to contribute to this worthy cause by donating gifts that we can auction".
