PHILIPSBURG--In connection with the upcoming "Fete to Fitness Jump-up" which is scheduled for March 21, the Police Department is taking the following traffic measures on the date mentioned, a press release stated.
The jump-up will start at 8:00pm on Sucker Garden Road, in the vicinity of Monchi's Bar and will be taking the following route: Sucker Garden Road - Freedom Fighter's roundabout – Salt Picker's roundabout – Walter Nisbeth Road – Percy Labega Street – Long Wall Road – Front Street - Emma Plein – Welvaart Brug – W. Buncamper Road – Freedom Fighter's roundabout – Walter Nisbeth Road – Salt Picker's round-about – Soualiga Road up to the finish at the parking lot in front of Festival Village.
From 5:00pm, Front Street will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic. All alleys connecting Front Street to Back Street will also be closed. All alleys connecting Front Street to the Boardwalk should remain clear in case of emergencies.
"All residents, business operators and hotel operators should take good note of this information. Hotel operators should inform their guests of this temporary traffic measure. Parking in Front Street during the passage of the jump-up is not allowed. Vehicles found parked in Front Street will be towed at the owners' expense. This traffic measure will remain in place until the jump-up has cleared Front Street. All drivers should take good note of this measure," the press release stated.

From 8:30pm, Walter Nisbeth Road will be closed off at Voges Street. No traffic on Walter Nisbeth Road. Soualiga Boulevard will be closed off at Salt Pickers' roundabout. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers' roundabout. D.A. Peterson Street will be closed off at Salt Pickers' round about. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers' roundabout. Walter Nisbeth Road will be closed off at Codville Webster Road. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers' roundabout.
From 9.00pm, Walter Nisbeth Road will be closed off at Hensey Beaujon Street. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers' round about.
From 9:30 pm, Walter Nisbeth Road will be closed off at Percy Labega Street. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers' roundabout.
From 9:40pm, Long Wall Road will be closed off at Prins Bernard Bridge and Back Street. No traffic will be allowed on Long Wall Road. Kerkhof Straat will be closed off at Front Street. No traffic in the direction of Kerkhof Straat and Front Street. Little Bay Road will be closed off at Front Street. No traffic in the direction of Kerkhof Straat and Front Street.
From 11:00pm, Juancho Yrausquin Boulevard will be closed off at Welvaart Bridge. No traffic in the direction of Buncamper Road. Buncamper road will be closed off at Freedom Fighter's roundabout. No traffic in the direction of Juancho Yrausquin Boulevard.
From 11:15pm, Sucker Garden Road will be closed off at Freedom Fighter's roundabout. No traffic in the direction of Walter Nisbeth Road. Walter Nisbeth Road will be closed off at Salt Pickers' roundabout. No traffic towards Freedom Fighters' roundabout.
From 11:30pm, Soualiga Boulevard closed will be closed off at Rock Salt Road. No traffic towards Salt Pickers roundabout. D.A. Peterson Street will be closed off at Salt Pickers' roundabout. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers roundabout. Walter Nisbeth Road will be closed off at Codville Webster road. No traffic in the direction of Salt Pickers' round about.
After the jump-up has reached its final destination, Salt Pickers' roundabout will be partially closed until all pedestrian traffic has diminished. Motor vehicle traffic will only be allowed on Walter Nisbeth Road in the direction of Prins Bernard Bridge and Salt Pickers' roundabout. All other main roads, streets and alleys will at that time be open to all traffic.
