Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
MARIGOT--The new Director General of Services (DGS) for the Collectivité Philippe Millon started work on Monday, succeeding Pascal Averne, who held the post from 2007 to 2014.
Averne returned to Guadeloupe on December 23, 2014, but was back in St. Martin on Monday to go over details with the new Director and help him settle in.
Millon was introduced to the Assistant Director General (DGA) and other heads of services and institutions. In turn, he presented his own impressive résumé and career in administration.
The new DGS was accompanied by First Vice-President Guillaume Arnell and Director of Human Resources Vernon Roper and Pascal Averne for the introductions.
Millon said he was committed to "providing quality service" and stressed the importance of "working in the general interest".
Arnell assured Philippe Millon that he, President Aline Hanson and all the elected officials will give him the full support to carry out his mission for the Collectivité.
During the coming days, Millon will meet the various department heads of the Collectivité and other services, and have a meeting with Vernon Roper.
