>PHILIPSBURG:--- President Hon. Dr. Lloyd Richardson on Wednesday morning met with Prime Minister Hon. Marcel Gumbs to discuss a number of matters.
Richardson and Gumbs have decided to meet on a quarterly basis to keep each other abreast on matters of mutual interests.
President Richardson was informed that the national 2015 budget has been forwarded to His Excellency Governor Eugene Holiday who will send it to Parliament within short. The planning and procedures for the 2015 budget was discussed in the meeting.
Other areas on the agenda that were discussed are: communication/convocation procedures; meet and greet between Members of Parliament and the Council of Ministers.
Motions passed by the House of Parliament to be executed by the Council of Ministers or Ministers was also discussed; the development of a working agreement in answering questions posed by Members of Parliament to the Ministers.
The President and the Prime Minister also discussed an overview of pending items from Government as well as an overview of pending legislation.
Prime Minister Gumbs and President Richardson were both very pleased with the outcome of their first formal meeting together and are both looking forward to a productive parliamentary year.
